Village Harmony Summer Camp

2007

New England Teen Camp II

July 12-August 2

Led by Larry Gordon, Tijana Vignjevic, and Val Mindel.

This session introduces a new young Village Harmony leader, Tijana Vignjevic from Sarejevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina. She taught at the Village Harmony camp in Bosnia last summer and all were impressed with her dynamism, musicianship and choice of repertoire. She will teach a selection of traditional village songs as well as some more contemporary composed pieces. With extensive experience as an orchestra conductor, she will also lead a band with any available instrumentalists. Val Mindel will bring a selection of Appalachian and other traditional harmony numbers, and also lead some band numbers drawing on her extensive string band experience. Larry will bring his typically eclectic mix of shape-note, renaissance and contemporary works. This session will travel through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Rehearsal week at Sky Meadow Retreat in Stannard, Vermont.
