New England Teen Camp I

Led by Patty Cuyler, Luke Hoffman, and Evgeny Efremov.
The stunning and often unexpected harmonies of Ukrainian, Caucasus Georgian and Corsican polyphonic singing will be featured in this first teen camp of the season. New-comer Evgeny Efremov of Kiev will bring to the session the haunting and evocative folk music of Ukraine. Luke Hoffman, Village Harmony's newest faculty member, will teach American Gospel and lead precussion sessions. Village Harmony codirector Patty Cuyler will teach an eclectic set of songs from Corsica and South Africa and the American shape-note and gospel traditions, and lead a pick-up band with any instrumentalists in the group. This session will tour through Massachusetts, New York State, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Stump Sprouts Retreat Center
A rustic, multi-season resort and retreat center in rural Massachusetts. Facilities include: hand-crafted guest lodge, converted dairy barn (with lofts, reached by a spiral staircase up through the old silo) 200-year-old farmhouse, 450 acres of trails for hiking and mountain biking, wood-fired sauna and solar shower. Organic gardens provide vegetables for the kitchen.
